ITINERARY:
Day 1 – We’ll greet you at Ben Gurion airport and transport you to your hotel in Tel Aviv. From there and take in the sights and sounds of an evening in the modern capital of Israel! Overnight in Tel Aviv.
Day 2 – You’ll explore the scenic alleyways and artistic boutique shops of ancient Jaffa before heading up the Mediterranean Sea coast to Haifa, one of the largest port cities in Israel. From here you’ll get to take in the quaint and incomparable seaside charm of Akko before spending
the night in an authentic kibbutz (dinner & breakfast included).
Day 3 – Get to know Nazareth, the city where Jesus grew up. You’ll visit Nazareth Village, an authentic interactive recreation of what ancient Nazareth was like. Afterwards you’ll continue on to Cana to see the ancient church commemorating the site of Jesus first miracle, turning water into wine. In the afternoon you’ll ascend the scenic Mount Tabor and visit the site traditionally associated with the transfiguration of Jesus. You’ll end the day by visiting Yardenit, the
traditional modern site for baptism in the Jordan river. Overnight in a kibbutz (dinner & breakfast included).
Day 4 – Continuing through the Galilee you’ll visit a variety of sites as noteworthy for their natural beauty as for the fact that they were central to the Gospel stories about Jesus: The hill where Jesus taught the beatitudes, Capernaum – where St. Peter’s mother-in-law’s house was with its ancient synagogue, Magdala – the home of Mary Magdalene with its mysterious ancient synagogue and ethereal modern church, ending with a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee.
Overnight at the Dead Sea (dinner & breakfast included).
Day 5 – Waking up at your hotel at the Dead Sea you’ll have the morning to experience the sites and novelties of the lowest place on earth, beginning with the option to float in the famous Dead Sea and to cover yourself in the famous Dead Sea mud with its rich mineral properties. After your 11 AM check-out you’ll head out to encounter the dramatic history and breathtaking views of the ancient cliff-top fortress of Masada. Overnight in Jerusalem (dinner & breakfast included).
Day 6 – You’ll begin the day on the Mount of Olives with its stunning overview of Jerusalem and then take a short stroll down to the Garden of Gethsemane with its ancient olive trees where Jesus was arrested prior to his crucifixion. The remainder of the day will be spent in the labyrinthine shops and alleyways of the Old City. Visiting the Western Wall and/or Church of the Holy Sepulchre are also options, and frankly, the possibilities of things to do and the variety of
things to see on this day are too numerous to list, but suffice it to say that Jerusalem typically leaves an indelible impression on her visitors. Overnight in Jerusalem (dinner & breakfast included).
Day 7 – More Jerusalem, but this time visiting the more modern portion of the city including the unforgettable Israel Museum, the moving Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial, Ein Karem – the quaint village John the Baptist came from and the colorful and raucous Mahane Yehuda market. Overnight in Jerusalem (dinner & breakfast included).
Day 8 – After breakfast we’ll transport you to Ben Gurion airport for your flight home.
